WHAT IS FORWARD?

FORWARD is a two-year expression of our vision, which will allow us to step boldly into all that God is calling us to. Through FORWARD, we’ll build a great church that expands our capacity and reach; become a strategic hub connected to our city’s flourishing; and seek the Lord to begin a significant movement in global missions.

This initiative will focus our prayers and efforts in three distinct ways as we go from our church, for the city, and to the nations.

Commit To Forward

FROM OUR CHURCH

  • A 1,200–1,400 seat Worship Center and a much larger commons to create space for our people to go deeper in community with one another.
  • 300–400 new parking spaces that will ease our parking issues.
  • An expanded Kids Ministry with additional rooms, spaces for children with special needs, and a new playground.
  • A reimagined Student Ministry to reach and disciple the next generation.
  • New adult classrooms to launch new groups and make disciples.
  • An expanded pastoral-training pipeline to invest in the next generation of pastors and church leaders.

FOR THE CITY

  • Equip our church so that every home within three miles hears the gospel.
  • Strengthen church plants and revitalizations, investing in three new or existing churches across the Charlotte metro area.
  • Serve the at-risk and needy through mercy ministries.
  • Deepen our partnerships with local schools as we reach the next generation.
  • Expand our reach to new language groups in the area through international ministry and translation services.

TO THE NATIONS

  • Equip and send 25 new missionaries in five years.
  • Launch three global missions partnerships to equip global pastors, strengthen existing churches, and plant new churches.
  • Begin the work of translating God’s Word into the language of an unreached people group.
  • Send over 250 short-term team members into the field.

      RADICAL GENEROUSITY

      It’s not about equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.

      1. Beginning Giver

      “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” Proverbs 19:17
      You’ve made the decision to give a financial gift of any amount for the first time to our ministry budget.

      2. Consistent Giver

      “On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.” 1 Corinthians 16:2
      You’ve committed to regularly give a portion of your income to the ministry budget at Christ Community to advance the gospel through a recurring gift.

      3. Percentage Giver

      “And before the Lord your God, in the place that He will choose, to make His name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.” Deuteronomy 14:23
      You begin to give 10% of your income (what the Bible calls a “tithe”) to the local church as an act of worship, prioritizing God through your financial commitments.

      4. Expanded Giver

      “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
      You think about long-term generosity, inten- tionally increasing your gifts to the ministry budget beyond the tithe to catalyze ministry initiatives.

      5. Extravagant Giver

      “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

      YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

      Why is the church expanding, and how will this help our mission?
      Our church family is growing, and our current space is full for worship, children’s ministry, parking, and discipleship. Expanding our facilities will help us better welcome new people, make disciples, reach the next generation, and equip more followers of Jesus to live on mission in our community and beyond.
      What is the campaign goal and timeline, and when do I make a commitment?
      Our goal is $20 million, to be raised over two years, starting November 2, 2025, and ending November 2, 2027. We invite you to prayerfully consider your commitment and submit your commitment card during the campaign period so we can plan wisely and move forward together.
      Is this campaign separate from my regular giving?
      Yes and no. This two-year vision fund will cover the ministry budget (operating expenses) for our church for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 fiscal year along with an additional goal for expanded ministry. Therefore, your regular giving should be included in your commitment, but please prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to expand your giving as we expand the ministry God has laid before us. The money raised through FORWARD will enable us to fund our future building project, along with a number of other expanded ministry initiatives locally and globally.
      How much will the expanded ministry space cost, and how do we know the budget is right?
      The project’s estimated cost is $25 million. We have prayerfully developed a realistic budget based on professional estimates to ensure every dollar is stewarded well. Transparency is important to us, and we will share details regularly so you know how funds are being used toward construction, ministry space, and other key needs.
      When will we begin work on our future building?
      We are already underway on the building project! We have been engaged in the design phase with a builder and an architect firm who anticipate that we will be able to begin breaking ground in late 2026, with construction concluding by late 2028. While we will not break ground on our new facility immediately, we will be addressing our property and facility to handle our existing ministry needs much sooner.
      What if we don’t meet the full goal?
      We trust God to provide, and if we don’t reach the full amount, we have a plan to prioritize key parts of the project and continue wisely. Every gift helps, and together, we will move forward in faith.
      How can families and individuals participate—no matter the size of their gift?

      Every gift matters. You can participate through prayer, financial gifts of any size, or by giving stocks, bonds, real estate, and other assets. We also encourage families to talk together about how they can join in this exciting season for our church. For families with children, we have a special guidebook for the kids!

      Why do I need to fill out a commitment card?
      Filling out a commitment card helps us know how God is leading our church family and allows us to plan the project carefully. Additionally, these commitment cards will play a critical role in our ability to obtain an adequate construction loan. It’s a way to join together in faith and accountability as we take this step forward.
