Covenant Renewal

Get Started

We believe church membership is incredibly important, and asking members to renew their covenant every five years is a helpful pattern. This approach will allow us to shepherd well, care for each other, and ensure that every member remains actively engaged.

Get Involved

Membership at Christ Community is more than a status. Ready to take your next step? Go deeper in your faith today.

Groups

Groups help us become like Christ as we gather in gospel-centered community for discipleship, community, mission, and multiplication.

Serve

We believe that the church is God’s “Plan A” for reaching the lost and making disciples. Go all in on making disciples by joining the Core Team.

Missions

The gospel is a message of hope for all, entrusted to the Church to herald across the globe. Invest in the global spread of the gospel as we seek to reach the nations for Christ.

Give

In every season of ministry, our church has been propelled forward by the radical generosity of faithful members who understand the vision and invest sacrificially.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has anything changed since the last time I signed a membership covenant?
No, our membership covenant has not changed. Whenever a member completes their membership covenant renewal, they are reviewing and reaffirming their commitment to the document they signed when they originally joined Christ Community.
Why do we renew our member commitments?

When you became a member, you made two important commitments. First, you affirmed the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as our statement of faith. This is the central document that explains our theology and practice. Second, you affirmed your agreement with our membership covenant, indicating your commitment to walking together under the authority of God’s Word, in community with God’s people, and on mission for God’s glory.

Our membership covenant reminds us to:

  • Pursue spiritual growth—deepening our faith through personal and family disciplines.
  • Engage consistently—committing to worship, church gatherings, and discipleship in biblical community.
  • Live Christ-centered lives—reflecting His character, preserving unity, and submitting to godly leadership.
  • Give generously, serve faithfully, and support the mission of spreading the gospel locally and globally.

So, why do we renew our covenant? Because it strengthens our church family, helps us shepherd well, and ensures that we’re all actively engaged in the life and mission of Christ Community. It’s also an opportunity for those who’ve been on the fence about membership to take that next step and lock arms with us.

What happens if I do not renew my membership covenant?

First, we want you to know that there will be plenty of time for every member who wishes to renew their membership covenant to do so.

However, we know that there are occasions when someone on our membership roster has moved away, moved on, or moved into a new season of ministry. In those cases, members are welcome to notify us that they are no longer a part of Christ Community.

If we do not hear from a member by August 3, 2025, they will be formally removed from our member rolls.

How can I access the membership covenant or Baptist Faith & Message 2000?

Are there other ways to renew?

Yes! If you’d prefer to renew your membership covenant in person, please stop by Next Steps on a Sunday morning.

What if I’m not a member yet?

No problem! We’d love for you to join Christ Community for the first time!

Although Membership Covenant Renewal is only for current members seeking to renew their membership, there is a very simple pathway to joining Christ Community. To join Christ Community, please attend the next Open House. Learn more about becoming a member at Christ Community by visiting http://www.christcommunity.com/grow-spiritually.

Note: Attempting to complete membership covenant renewal by a person who has not previously joined Christ Community will not grant that person membership.
