Making gospel-centered disciples among all kids for the glory of God.

What We Do

We’ve created discipleship opportunities for children from infancy through elementary school. There’s something for everyone at Christ Community.

Awana

In Awana, kids grow in Christ through Scripture memorization, games, and investment from adult leaders. Awana is available for potty-independent 3-year-olds through 5th graders. Awana begins September 4, 2024.

Sundays

Newborns through 5th graders gather Sunday mornings during worship services. Kids participate in both large and small group environments where they worship God and interact with the Bible in an engaging way.

VBX

VBX is an action-packed, fun-filled week where kids dive deep into God’s Word. During VBX, kids explore the gospel through Bible lessons, missions, games, crafts, snacks, and intentional discipleship.

About Kids Community

We partner with families by reaching and discipling children for God’s glory. We work to support parents as they carry out their God-given role as the primary disciple-makers in the home.

Safe

We prioritize the safety of kids and adults by implementing a thorough screening process for all staff and volunteers, maintaining secure check-in and pick-up procedures, and ensuring our facilities are secure and age-appropriate.

Fun

We want to create environments where kids feel like learning about Jesus is fun! Through interactive and engaging lessons, games, activities, and more, we aim to make every kid excited to come to church and eager to explore the Bible.

Gospel-Centered

At the heart of our Kids Ministry is the gospel. We teach biblical truths in a way that kids can understand, emphasizing God’s love, grace, and the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in every lesson and interaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect on my first visit?

First of all, welcome! We’re so excited to see you! Upon arrival, follow the signs to the Kids Check-In area. If you need help, find any volunteer on campus—they’ll point you in the right direction. Because of our commitment to safety, you’ll check your child(ren) in using our check-in system. If your child has any special concerns or allergies that our team needs to know, please tell the volunteers at check-in. We want to do the best we can to safely accommodate everyone! On Sundays, you can expect your kid(s) to hear a lesson about the gospel told in kid-friendly language, worship as a group, complete activities that relate to the lesson, and learn a memory verse in a fun and safe environment!

How do I check my child in on Sundays?

We’ll have signs pointing you to the check-in area where one of our Kids volunteers will be available to help. Because of our commitment to safety, every child will need to be checked in and out using our check-in system. If it’s your first visit, we’ll ask for a bit of family information—your full name, your child’s full name, their birthday, your contact information, and any special instructions or allergy information. Check in begins 15 minutes before each service. Once your child has been checked in, you’ll receive corresponding parent and child stickers which will be used to pick your child up after the worship service has ended.

How do you prioritize safety?

We recognize that God has entrusted us with the safety of kids while they’re in our care, and we prioritize their well-being. Each Kids environment is supervised by multiple volunteers who have undergone an extensive onboarding process that includes an application, in-person interview, background check, policy training, and completion of an accredited sexual abuse awareness training. All of our Kids areas are secure. Only parents and approved volunteers are allowed in the children’s hallways. We also contract police officers to be in or around all Kids environments.

If you have any additional questions regarding the practices or policies surrounding children’s safety, please reach out to kids@christcommunity.com.

My child has special needs. What steps are taken to make your environments inclusive?

We want our Kids Ministry to reflect the truth of Scripture that there should be no distinction in the body of Christ. As such, our ministry strives to provide an inclusive, gospel-centered environment for children who face unique challenges related to their physical, mental, behavioral, medical, or emotional needs. If you have a child with special needs or would like more information, please reach out to kids@christcommunity.com.

Serve With Kids Community

Kids and families matter to God. Building Families is one of our Core Values at Christ Community. We are passionate about supporting parents and partnering with church members to teach kids to love God, love his church, and love others, all in a safe and nurturing environment. Kids Ministry at Christ Community is dependent on the faithful service of members of our church body. We also take your personal discipleship seriously and believe serving is a means of spiritual growth and a place where strong relationships with other believers are forged. If you’re interested in making a difference in the lives of children and creating a safe space for kids to experience the love of God and the truth of the gospel, then check out the volunteer opportunities below.
